Art Talk: 'Art in the Landscape' w/Rebecca Mott, MFA
May 7, 2024 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
LACA's Art Talks series is delighted to present Art in the Landscape, a talk by Rebecca Mott, MFA. The presentation will occur on Tuesday, May 7 at 6 p.m. and is open to the public with a suggested donation of $5.
In this hour-long presentation, Mott will delve into how artists in the 1960s, inspired by earthwork traditions from prehistory, aimed to create work outside the conventional gallery and museum walls—art that couldn't be commercialized. The environmental movement of the 1970s added another layer, critiquing our relationship with nature. From the massive and enduring to the delicate and fleeting, these artists' manipulation of the natural world will be explored.
As part of LACA's Art Talks series, this event offers an enlightening journey through art history, techniques, and relevance. Attendees can ask questions and participate in discussions with the presenter and other attendees.
Pre-registration is advised with a suggested donation of $5. For more details about Art in the Landscape or other Art Talks at LACA, visit ludingtonartscenter.org or call 231-845-2787.

Ludington Area School District will provide transportation from Ludington Elementary to LACA for this program! To sign up for LASD School Bus transportation, you must email Debby at the transportation office with your student’s name and days they will be riding to LACA: [email protected]. Make sure to select Bus 17D in the PikMyKid App.
