Steve Begnoche, American Coot Photography, has been photographing and writing about life in Michigan and beyond for more than 40 years. A semi-retired journalist who used images from his camera as well as word images to convey stories, American Coot Photography takes a fine art approach, tempered with a journalist’s eye, to the natural world and our interaction with it.
Through his photography, Begnoche seeks to share the beauty and power of nature while also showing its quiet, reflective side. Whether photographing monstrous Great Lakes waves crashing over a lighthouse in a show of raw power, or the quiet reflection of twilight on a mirror-still lake, Begnoche seeks to have the viewer experience the sense of awe and beauty he does while behind the camera.
His photos are available In print, canvas or by special order in metal.
Prints and note cards are available in Ludington at Book Mark, Art By Mary Case Gallery & Studio and the Ludington Area Center for the Arts. Canvas prints also are available at the Ludington Area Center for the arts.
